Do you have eggs in your fridge? You might want to check if they've been recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a product recall notice Saturday for eggs sold in Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and possibly other provinces and territories, due to possible salmonella contamination.

What eggs have been recalled?Brands impacted by the recall include: Compliments, Foremost, Golden Valley Eggs, IGA, no name and Western Family.
Loblaw confirmed while national brand eggs, including Golden Valley, were only sold by at their stores in Western Canada, the affected No Name eggs were sold in Ontario at Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaws, Your Independent Grocer, No Frills, Valu-Mart, Wholesale Club and Fortinos.
"This targeted recall by Burnbrae Farms Ltd., packaged by Golden Valley Foods, affects only select Safeway and FreshCo stores in British Columbia," said a Sobeys spokesperson. "Impacted Compliments shell eggs have been removed from our shelves in those stores. Our banner stores in other regions are not impacted by this recall."
The eggs were also sold through Amazon Canada. Costco Canada issued a recall notice for certain Golden Valley eggs sold in B.C. between Jan. 3 and Jan. 17.
Walmart Canada confirmed their company did carry the recalled eggs at select B.C. stores and all affected recalled products have been removed from shelves.
Only eggs with the specific lot code information shown in the full CFIA recall notice are affected by the recall.

How do I check my eggs to see if they are impacted by the recall?The CFIA provided the following tips to see if the eggs you have at home have been recalled.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency shared this graphic on Facebook on Jan. 21 to help people figure out if their eggs were impacted by the recent egg recall.

Check your egg carton for all details listed in the official recall notice.Carefully compare the information, including brand, product name, size, UPC, lot code and best-before date.If all details match, the eggs are affected. Do not consume them. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.If the details don’t fully match, your eggs are safe to use.
